Premier Susan Holt is heading toward the midpoint of her mandate with a healthy polling lead over her opponents, but with an impatient electorate waiting for concrete results.

Many voters say they haven’t seen enough progress on key issues like affordability and health care, according to a major new poll from Abacus Data.

The survey of 601 New Brunswickers, conducted by Abacus Data from July 29 to Aug. 7, represents a snapshot in time, but it’s one of the most detailed polls since Holt took office about the political climate in New Brunswick.

It adds context and nuance to earlier surveys by other polling firms that also suggested Holt’s Liberals were ahead in voting intentions despite their drooping approval ratings.
