Canada Post says it plans to switch about 19,000 addresses in Moncton and Riverview to community box delivery in the next nine months as part of a plan to streamline operations and cut costs.
“It is an adjustment. It is a change, but it allows us to continue to deliver for Canadians and for the people of Moncton … in a way that is much more aligned with what they need from Canada Post today and also that is much more affordable,” said Jon Hamilton, vice-president of communication and stakeholder management at Canada Post.
Those being converted include about 12,000 homes and 1,700 businesses in Moncton and another 5,500 addresses in Riverview.
