New Brunswickers aged six months and older will be able to get updated COVID-19 and influenza vaccines for free, starting Oct. 13.
The province’s chief medical officer of health strongly recommends both vaccines for people at risk of severe infection because of age or underlying health conditions.
This includes people aged 65 and older, people who live in a long-term care home or other congregate settings, people with chronic health conditions and pregnant people.
“With respiratory illness season approaching, vaccination is an important step people can take to protect their health and help protect others,” Dr. Yves Léger said in a news release Friday.
“Receiving both the flu and COVID-19 vaccines can reduce the chance of becoming seriously ill, requiring hospitalization and spreading illness to others.”
How to book an appointment
