Parts of central and southern New Brunswick are under an Environment Canada freezing rain warning, with the poor weather expected to start overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning.

According to Environment Canada, the freezing rain could last six to 10 hours with five to 10 millimetres expected.

It will begin around midnight as a mix of snow and ice pellets before transitioning into freezing rain mixed with ice pellets, the warning says.

The warning has been issued for the Fredericton, Moncton, Oromocto and Sussex areas. But it could be extended to include more regions as the weather event gets closer,
