The trial of two men charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder in the death of a Saint John man two years ago got underway in Court of King’s Bench Tuesday with testimony from his killer.

Charles Pleasance, 59, and Stephen Martin, 67, are accused of assisting Jinelle Thompson, 47, to escape, knowing she had murdered Allan Lee.

The body of the 52-year-old was discovered in a wooded area on the western outskirts of the city, near Lorneville, on Aug. 1, 2024.

Thompson was sentenced last September to life in prison with no chance of parole for at least 10 years after she pleaded guilty in May to second-degree murder.
