After nearly six weeks on the loose, Todd John Lewis is back in police custody after being arrested by Codiac Regional RCMP on Monday.
Lewis, 36, appeared in Moncton provincial court on Tuesday to face two new charges: escaping from lawful custody and breaching a probation order to complete a domestic violence intervention program.
Three officers from provincial sheriff services stood behind Lewis as he was escorted into the courtroom in handcuffs. He did not address the court except to say he understood the charges.
Codiac RCMP say Lewis was spotted while police were conducting routine patrols in Moncton and was arrested after a brief struggle.
