Fredericton police are investigating a report of an alleged sexual assault against a youth in Odell Park on Saturday.
In a statement released to the public on Sunday, the Fredericton Police Force said the attack allegedly happened while a girl was walking on a trail near the Rookwood Avenue entrance.
The statement said police were called around 5 p.m. on Saturday and, while they searched the area, they did not find the suspect.
“The victim reported being approached from behind by an unknown man and was able to get away safely,” the statement said.
