Joey Tardif of Grand Falls began running two years ago, and now he is among the fastest New Brunswickers to complete in the Boston Marathon 2026.

Tardif finished the race last week in two hours 48 minutes and 33 seconds, one of the best times recorded among runners from the province.

“I wouldn’t have been disappointed just doing under three hours, but it made me just super happy doing 2:48,” he said. “I didn’t think I was going to do that good.”

More than 30,000 runners from 130 countries competed in the event, and the winner, for the fifth time, was John Korir of Kenya,
