Fire crews were working to contain an out-of-control wildfire south of Fredericton, one of two reported in the area as of Thursday afternoon.
New Brunswick’s Emergency Measures Organization said the out-of-control fire, near Tweedside Road and Oromocto Lake, poses a low risk to the public.
According to the province, as of 5 p.m., the fire was 10 hectares in size and 50 per cent contained.
The fire, first detected on Wednesday night, was reported to be six hectares earlier on Thursday.
“A small group of recreational camps in the area, located on Crown land, are being notified of the potential risk,” EMO said in a statement.
