A person was taken to hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries after a suspected hit-and-run near Sackville, according to the RCMP.
Mathieu Daigle, the operations commander with the Sackville detachment, told CBC News on Thursday afternoon that police responded to the part of Route 2 near the Walker Road intersection at around 5 a.m. Thursday.
Police arrived and saw what was believed to be a hit-and-run. The hit individual was taken to hospital with critical injuries, police said.
Daigle did not say if the person was identified or if the individual’s family had been notified.
Daigle said police are asking anyone with more information about the incident to contact RCMP.
