On Saturday November 8, 2014 in an effort to promote among girls an interest in Information Technology, an event was held in 17 cities across Canada. In Fredericton it was held at Planet Hatch in Knowledge Park. The event was aimed at girls ranging in age from 8-13, and each girl was paired with thier parent. The purpose was to teach them how to create a website from scratch using HTML and CSS. The workshop was presented by a lead instructor with the aid of several mentors. At the end of the day each girl had the opportunity to showcase the website they created that day.
