When Robbie MacFarlane moved back to Nackawic a few years ago after working out west, he was told the community’s pulp mill was in a better spot than when he originally left his job at the mill.
It meant taking a pay cut for him to come back, but MacFarlane wanted to be back with his family who had stayed in New Brunswick, so he took the job.
Now, he’s back to looking for jobs on the east and west coasts after getting the news that the Nackawic pulp mill will be closing.
“You still got to eat at the end of the day and pay the bills,” he said.
