A Moncton man has been arrested for an alleged homicide that took place outside a local shelter in late August.

Codiac Regional RCMP say 29-year-old James Hannah has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the death of 34-year-old Zachary Pollock.

Pollock was found severely injured outside the Bridge to Home Resource Hub and Emergency Shelter on St. George Street just before midnight on Aug. 26. He later died in hospital from his injuries.

The shelter is run by the John Howard Society of Southeastern New Brunswick, which did not respond to a request for comment on the death at the time.
