Green MLA Megan Mitton says she will run for the leadership of the New Brunswick Green Party.
Mitton, a three-term member of the provincial legislature, made the announcement in a press release Wednesday morning.
“I am convinced now more than ever that we need leaders who are bold and honest and who are going to fight for what New Brunswickers really need,” Mitton said in an interview.
“I’m putting my name forward because I understand what the job entails and I’m up for the job.”
She said she would focus on climate change, energy solutions, health care and social and economic justice if elected leader.
