More than 200 quilts filled the Quispamsis Lions Club this weekend as the Kennebecasis Valley Quilters’ Guild held its 44th annual show.
Under the theme “Scrap Happy — No Piece Left Behind,” the three-day event featured works from dozens of local crafters.
“It’s getting harder and harder to find a theme because all quilt shows do have a theme,” said show convener Janet McLeod. “So this year I wanted it scrappy.”
Lorette Cole took home Best in Show for a quilt six years in the making.
The piece depicts a group of Amish men cutting ice in northern Maine, based on a photograph by Presque Isle photographer Paul Cyr.
