A Saint John charity that provides up to 100 bags of food to families each month is planning to end operations.
“With inflation and the cost of food, it’s just getting absolutely almost uncontrollable, to be quite honest with you,” Patrick Gordon, the founder of Operation Feed Saint John, told CBC Information Morning Saint John.
“So we’re looking at summing up operations at the end of 2026. We’re hoping that we’ll be able to get what food we have left and what money we have left in our bank account spent on food and get it out to the community.”
Operation Feed Saint John started in 2021 with veterans in the city volunteering to bring large bags of food to families in need.
