Five Fredericton businesses, all near the same intersection, will spend the summer shrouded by construction.
But in anticipation of the summer street closure, the businesses decided to collaborate with their competition to try to bring in customers.
“Sometimes choosing a place can be as simple as a right versus a left-hand turn, so our job as entrepreneurs is to remove as many of those barriers as possible,” Jennie Wilson, co-owner of 11th Mile and Coastline Pizza, said.
“We know construction will have a negative impact, but we thought, well, why don’t we tap into our regulars and the people in Fredericton who love small businesses and provide them a little bit of extra incentive to come on down.”
