An arborist died on the job in Mactaquac on Wednesday, according to WorkSafeNB.
“Our condolences go out to the worker’s family, friends, and colleagues,” WorkSafeNB spokesperson Lynn Meahan-Carson said in an emailed statement on Thursday.
The arborist with Heartwood Tree Care was electrocuted when climbing a utility pole, she said.
In a statement, N.B. Power spokesperson Elizabeth Fraser said an individual “was found deceased after coming into contact with energized equipment.”
The worker was not employed or contracted by N.B. Power, Fraser said.
The RCMP is currently investigating to determine the circumstances around the incident, Fraser said,
