A Fredericton lawyer who was found guilty of 29 professional misconduct charges has been disbarred by the Law Society of New Brunswick.

The law society sent out a notice on Sept. 10 saying Stephen Hill is no longer able to practise law.

Hill was put on a suspension from practising law in February 2025 after the law society received multiple misconduct complaints.

Hill was found guilty of 29 charges in early June by a panel of the discipline committee. The charges included professional misconduct, misappropriating more than $1 million in client funds, failure to complete required work and failure to follow client instructions.
