The New Brunswick government has decided to keep its provincial veterinary laboratory, but field services for large animals will be taken up by Carleton AgriSolutions, a private company.

The Hartland-based company, which provides agricultural products such as grain seeds, has no veterinarian experience but is hoping to have a service ready in the coming months, the province says.

“There’s still lots of work to be done,” Agriculture Minister Pat Finnigan said Wednesday. “They will be continuing to work with the veterinarians because it’s to everybody’s advantage to make it work.”
