Events are happening around New Brunswick this week to mark Red Dress Day, the national day of awareness for missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and two-spirit people. 

The day has been observed since 2010 and spun from an art project by Jaime Black, a Métis woman who hung red dresses all over Winnipeg to represent lives lost. 

In Fredericton, a walk is planned for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday from Picaroons to Officers’ Square, said Pam Montour, CEO of Indigenous Women of the Wabanaki Territories.

After the walk, there will be an all-day memorial, she said,
