Candace Carnahan lost part of her left leg in a workplace injury 27 years ago, and it changed her life.

Now she has an online program trying to educate young people about staying safe on the job.

On average, 750 injury claims involving young workers aged 15 to 24 are received by WorkSafeNB each year, according to a statement from the group.

Shortly after Carnahan’s injury in 1999, she was approached by WorkSafeNB to go into schools and speak about her experience. 

“My case is, you know, not unique,” Carnahan said.
