Melissa Price’s parents are preparing to mark her 40th birthday Saturday. It will be a sombre day.

“I have to sing happy birthday to a box, an urn,” Pat Price, Melissa Price’s mother, said Thursday.

Pat and Peter Price spoke to reporters outside the Moncton courthouse, where they had hoped to see Devlin O’Blenis. 

The 35-year-old is charged with first-degree murder, accused of killing the 39-year-old on Feb. 14.
