The burned structure where emergency responders found a woman’s remains was that of a homeless encampment, said officials with the City of Fredericton.
Police Chief Gary Forward said a fire at the encampment was what firefighters were responding to when they found the remains of a woman last Thursday in a wooded area near Two Nations Crossing.
Forward said the woman has been identified, but, he declined to disclose her name.
“What I can tell you right now is that our investigation, to date is not … leading us to believe that there’s anything suspicious,” said Forward,
