New Brunswick is getting ready to elect leaders across its municipal and rural communities.
The local government elections cover the province’s 77 municipalities, 12 rural districts and district education councils. It’s the first time since New Brunswick reformed its local governments in 2023 that every person in the province, no matter where they live, gets the chance to vote for a local representative.
Below are five tips to help you prepare before heading out to vote on May 11.
1. What if I’m not registered to vote?
Not registered to vote? Not a problem. Just bring two pieces of identification that show your name, current address and signature. That could be your drivers license, or a Medicare card and a utility bill.
