We’re all worried about the cost of living affecting the price we pay for energy. At the same time, we’re worried about climate change and know we have to move forward with solutions—even though those solutions will cost money and also affect the price we pay for energy. One of the most effective climate change solutions is growing investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency. But can we ‘renew’ our electricity system and keep home energy bills affordable?
The Conservation Council’s research, informed by surveys, focus groups and a Citizens’ Assembly on electricity affordability, shows that New Brunswickers believe we can. Join our Dr. Louise Comeau, Director of Climate Solutions, and Emma Cox, Electricity Campaigner, on Tuesday, March 28 at 1 p.m. ADT for a webinar about our citizen engagement work around energy poverty and energy affordability. The webinar includes an overview of the process used to create the Conservation Council’s February 2023 Citizens’ Assembly, and a review of the consensus statement on the goals, principles and policies that should drive electricity renewal in New Brunswick, as drafted by participants.
