Two weeks ago, the New Brunswick government gave reporters a memo, alongside the provincial new budget, that announced provincial veterinary services would be phased out over the next two years.

Horse owners Vanessa Leclair and Meaghan Hudson then started organizing opposition to the decision, launching a petition on Change.org that received over 31,000 verified signatures with, according to the site, at least 60 per cent from New Brunswickers.
