The trial for a southeast New Brunswick man accused of killing his spouse has been delayed again after he changed lawyers.

Roger Hilyard Crossman faces a first-degree murder charge alleging he killed Marlene Cheryl Crossman on Oct. 12, 2023, in Sackville.

He’s also charged with improperly or indecently interfering with the 59-year-old’s body by dismemberment and mutilation.

His jury trial was originally scheduled to take place in Moncton last September but was rescheduled to start in late May.

Crossman had been represented by defence lawyer Alison Ménard until recently.

During an April 8 hearing, Crossman said he wanted to be represented by Bathurst lawyer Martin Siscoe.

The hearing was held to determine whether a lawyer for Crossman would be paid for by the provincial government.
