The Oromocto Fire Department says that two of its firefighters are recovering after being trapped in a burning building earlier this week.
According to the department, firefighters received a call for a house fire at 9 Campbell Crt. in the neighbourhood of Oromocto West at around 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 1.
“We weren’t sure if everybody was out of the house, so our crews entered the house for search and checking for fire extension,” said fire Chief Jody Price.
“They were just starting the search of the second floor when we had a roof collapse. It resulted in two of the firefighters becoming trapped.”
Oromocto fire Chief Jody Price said his firefighters quick thinking and application of their training saved two firefighters trapped in a house fire this week.
