#SpookySaturday: You never know what you’ll find at our nature preserves… or under the ground.
These photos were taken at our Thompson Marsh Nature Preserve, a 4.5 hectares (11 acres) preserve of coastal salt marsh and gravel barrier beach peninsula located near Chance Harbour, on the Bay of Fundy
. One of the many unique features of this preserve is an old cemetery containing several small grave sites, old grave stones, and a monument indicating those buried therein.
This property was generously donated by Mrs. Verna Thompson in 2004 so that, in her words, “this piece of land could be left in its natural state as it is now for all who are interested to explore and enjoy in the years to come.”

Thank you to volunteers and stewards Mike Gerrits, Bob Shaw, and Wayne Burley for helping us maintain this amazing piece of history!
