Special weather statement issued for:
New Brunswick, N.B. (015000-016000-017000)
Current details:
Significant wind and rain are expected beginning on Wednesday night.
Total rainfall: 25 to 40 mm. Locally higher amounts possible.
Maximum wind gusts: 70 to 90 km/h. Stronger coastal gusts possible.
Locations: New Brunswick.
Time span: Wednesday evening into Thursday morning.
Remarks: Very strong southerly winds will develop late Wednesday in advance of a vigorous cold front. The passage of this front will also bring intense rain in a fairly short period of time. Ponding/pooling on roadways may occur. Strong winds may toss loose objects and cause tree branches to break.
Wind and rainfall warnings may be issued by ECCC meteorologists as this event draws nearer. Northern New Brunswick has a rainfall warning criteria of 25 mm/24 hrs this time of year.
