District education councils are objecting to the prospect of school closures and budget cuts.
The fifth suggestion on a list of ideas for cost-cutting put out by the Holt government includes closing underused buildings, such as schools with fewer than 100 students.
Anglophone School District East has three schools that could be affected, said Dominic Vautour, the district council’s chair.
They are Riverside-Albert, Havelock and Dorchester Consolidated.
