Recounts have been requested in four tight races following New Brunswick municipal elections Monday.
Elections N.B. spokesperson Paul Harpelle says formal recounts have been requested in four of 39 races eligible for recounts.
Recounts can be requested when the margin of victory is 25 votes or less.
A recount for Ward 6 in Hautes-Terres, a community on the Acadian Peninsula, will take place Thursday. Monday’s results show Henri Battah had 257 votes to Ginette Le Breton’s 254, a three-vote difference.
A recount has been scheduled for Memramcook on Tuesday where there was also three-vote margin between candidates.
In that election, eight people ran for six councillor positions. Monday’s results show Jean Cormier had 998 votes,
