New Brunswick RCMP say they are investigating a suspicious death in the Minto area of Grand Lake where a body was discovered Monday.
Police were called around 6:20 a.m. about a sudden death on Park Street in a downtown Minto neighbourhood, RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Hans Ouellette said in an email Tuesday.
At the scene, police found a 59-year-old man from Minto “deceased outside the residence,” Ouellette said.
The statement did not say if the residence was the man’s own home.
An autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause of death, but at this time, “police are treating the death as suspicious in nature,” Ouellette said.
He wrote that the RCMP major crime unit and forensic identification services are helping with the investigation.
