Rae Spoon: Live in Fredericton ft. Jenna James

Join ElderPride for an evening of music with the incomparable Rae Spoon, beginning with a set from local artist Jenna James.

Location: Charlotte Street Arts Centre, 732 Charlotte Street, Fredericton (please enter using the glass doors on the right side of the building).

Pricing: Pay What You Can (suggested $10-20 sliding scale). No one will be turned away for lack of funds. There will be no advance tickets.

Performers:
Rae Spoon is a musician, producer, and author. They have released thirteen solo albums spanning folk, country, indie rock, and electronic genres and published three books (Arsenal Pulp Press). Rae has been nominated for two Polaris Prizes, a Lambda Literary Award, and a Western Canadian Music Award. They have toured internationally (Canada, Europe, the USA, Australia, China, Japan, Korea). Rae is a non-binary, trans artist who lives with multiple disabilities. Their newest album, Assigned Country Singer At Birth (2026), marks their return to country music. The album is equally subversive and relatable, a testament to the fact that country music is as expansive as the people who are connected to it. Songs about trans folks, harm reduction, Disability, inclusion, religious trauma, solidarity and opposing colonial land occupation may seem antithetical to traditional country, but they are as much a part of Spoon’s experiences as love songs, trucks and beer. Jenna James
Jenna James (she/her) is a queer singer-songwriter from Ktaqmkuk currently completing her MA in English and Creative Writing at UNB. Jenna writes about friends, pests, and inheritance and is hoping to release music sometime soon. Find Jenna at @jenna.sits.and.sings

The venue is physically accessible. There is accessible parking, a ramp outside the door, and an elevator between floors. Minimum door width at the venue is 32”.

Masks are not required but will be available at the door for community care and safety
We will have 2-3 H13 HEPA filters in the room (each with a CADR of 550 m³/h) and a CO2 monitor.
