The province is moving ahead with much of its plan to stop funding large-animal veterinary and laboratory services, a sector group said, but will maintain equine services for a few months longer than planned.
That was the conclusion of a Friday meeting between the Agricultural Alliance of New Brunswick, Agriculture Minister Pat Finnigan and Premier Susan Holt, according to a news release.
That meeting came two weeks after Natural Resources Minister John Herron said in a public meeting that the cuts could be delayed or shelved, adding that they would “create a lot of grief” for $4 million in savings.
