A procession of ambulance, police and fire service workers was bringing the bodies of two paramedics — Jenna Croucher, 23, and Mike MacKenzie, 56 — back to their Prince Edward Island home Friday, three days after their ambulance collided with a transport truck in New Brunswick.

Police said they believe the collision near the Confederation Bridge occurred when the ambulance travelling west collided with a transport truck headed east along Route 16 in Melrose. Anne Martell, a 77-year-old patient in the ambulance, also died in the collision.
