A new bus is helping some of Moncton’s most vulnerable to get around the city more easily.
But the 15-passenger shuttle isn’t part of the city’s transit fleet — it’s operated by the local harm-reduction organization, Ensemble Moncton.
Executive director Scott Phipps said the free service was started because frontline workers saw a need in the community.
“For a number of years, there has been a lot of talk about the need for such a service,” he said. “Things such as getting to the shelters, the scheduled food programs, banking, back and forth from the encampments if and when needed and just all of the services that people need.”
