Officials marked the completion of a new RCMP detachment in Moncton during a ceremony Tuesday.
The Codiac Regional RCMP moved into the $59.2-million building on Albert Street earlier this year, vacating the force’s Main Street office.
“Our previous building served this region well for over four decades, but by the end our employees were literally walking around buckets catching water from a leaking ceiling,” Supt. Benoit Jolette, Codiac’s commanding officer since 2019, said while speaking in the new building’s atrium.
“This new facility changes that, and it gives their people the space, the tools and the environment they need to meet the demands of our modern policing.”
