This Thursday, October 13, 2022, the new album by Acadian singer Émilie Landry will be released. “Enfiler mes bottes” is a country/folk album released by Le Grenier musique. Three of the songs on the album are in English.

The singer-songwriter from Campbellton was inspired in this very personal album by her daily life in her hometown. In her lyrics, Émilie Landry expresses herself with sincerity and lightness on the complexity of human relationships. She describes with tenderness a life that is sometimes hectic, sometimes monotonous, but at the same time filled with beauty. An imperfect life, filled with small pleasures and great upheavals.

An Acadie-Quebec team

For this album, Émilie Landry worked with the same team as for her previous album “Arroser les fleurs” released in 2020. She relied on the quality of work of producer Éric Dion of the duo Dans l’Shed, while his accomplice André Lavergne oversaw sound recording and mixing at MID studio in Quebec City. The mastering was done by the Lab Mastering team in Montreal. It was a pleasure for Émilie to work with the high caliber musicians: André Lavergne (electric guitar, acoustic guitar, mandolin, pedal steel), Vincent Gagnon (piano, organ, synthesizer), Éric Dion (banjo, acoustic guitar), Olivier Beaulieu (drums, percussions), Grégoire Painchaud (fiddle), Benoit Claveau (bass). The backing vocals were sung by Matt Boudreau, Samuel Robidoux and herself

Four show launches

To present the culmination of this work to the public, Émilie Landry and her musicians will be performing in four cities in New Brunswick. Émilie Landry’s new show has grown into a quintet. Justin Doucet on violin and bass and Chris Cormier on drums have joined Samuel Robidoux on guitar and Matt Boudreau on keyboards. The shows will be presented on Thursday, October 13th at 7pm at the Salle Alma in Atholville, on Friday, October 14th from 5 to 7pm at the Empress Hall of the Capitol Theatre in Moncton, on Saturday, October 15th at 7:30pm at the Samuel de Champlain Centre in St-Jean in a co-headlining show with Daniel Goguen, and on Saturday, October 22nd at 8pm at the Vieille École in Miscou.

In recent years, the singer-songwriter has worked hard to advance her career. She has participated in the Global Music Match and in various creative residencies. Émilie Landry’s writing has become stronger and her personality has been affirmed. Some of the songs are reminiscent of Dolly Parton, The Chicks or Taylor Swift, who inspire her in her personal and professional life. This country/folk album reveals a maturity that can only be gained by the path taken with a refined and down-to-earth sound that leaves room for truth and authenticity.

Émilie Landry would like to thank Musicaction Canada, ArtsNB, the SOCAN Foundation, SPAASI, le Grenier musique, Music NB and the Aberdeen Cultural Centre for their support in this project.
