September marks back-to-school season in New Brunswick, which means that pencils, loose-leaf paper, erasers and much, much more are flying off the shelves as families shop for supplies.
In New Brunswick, school districts leave it up to individual schools to decide what’s required in the classroom, and that can vary widely by school and grade level.
“Schools work to keep supply expectations reasonable and generally consistent across grade levels,” Anglophone East School District told CBC News in an emailed statement.
“Some schools or grade levels also choose to collect a supply fee and purchase supplies directly, which can help simplify the process for families,” said the statement.
