New Brunswick veterans are fuming at comments made by U.S. President Donald Trump questioning North American Treaty Organization forces conduct in battle.

In an interview with Fox News on Jan. 22, Trump said NATO forces who served alongside American troops in Afghanistan did so “a little off the front lines.”

Ken Stannix, who served with the North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, for 32 years, was angry when he heard Trump’s comments. His son, Chris, was one of 158 Canadian Armed Forces members killed in Afghanistan.
