New Brunswick’s plan to put a new toll near the Nova Scotia border is not going over well with students, truckers and others who cross between provinces every day.
“It feels like we’re almost betrayed,” Alex Poplar, a student from River Hebert, N.S., said.
If Premier Susan Holt follows through on her government’s plan to increase revenue laid out in the provincial budget, there will be a new toll in place in Aulac by 2028.
Only non-New Brunswick vehicles will have to pay to pass the busy traffic and trade corridor.
