The New Brunswick Association of Nursing Homes is pushing the province for a commitment to increase hours of care.
That refers to the amount of one-on-one care each resident gets daily from nurses and attendants for help with things like getting out of bed, getting dressed, bathing, eating, going to the bathroom, taking medications, doing exercises and medical or cognitive monitoring.
At a news conference in Fredericton on Wednesday, the association said it had submitted a formal request to the province in July and was still waiting for a yes or no.
