The provincial government has expanded a financial incentive program for paramedic and EMT students who stay and work in New Brunswick.
Paramedics must sign a two-year agreement to stay while EMTs must sign a one-year agreement. Graduates of six training programs are approved for the bursary.
The program was first announced last year and had been set to expire this March.
The province has committed $6.5 million in funding so far. Half of a student’s tuition cost is covered at graduation, and the other half comes after they’ve worked in the province for two years.
