The trial of two men charged with being accessories after the fact to murder in the death of a Saint John man heard testimony Tuesday from an eye witness.

Lana Jesso told the Court of King’s Bench she was in a Jeep with Jinelle Thompson two years ago when Thompson shot and killed Allan Lee.

The body of the 52-year-old was discovered in a wooded area on the western outskirts of the city, near Lorneville, on Aug. 1, 2024.

Stephen Martin, 67, and Charles Pleasance, 59, are accused of assisting Thompson by cleaning the Jeep, which was later taken to a junkyard.

Jesso told the jury she was turned around in the passenger seat, talking to Lee, who was in the backseat, when Thompson shot him in the back of the head with a .22 rifle from the back of the vehicle, then shot him again in the chest “because she said his heart was still going.”

“How [were] you feeling at this point in time?” asked Crown prosecutor Elaina Campbell.

“Lovely,” Jesso replied sarcastically. “No, I felt horrible, actually.”

“Did you know that Allan Lee was going to be killed that day?” Campbell asked.

“No, I didn’t.”
