Moncton plans to demolish a former police station and wants to see the prominent downtown site redeveloped.
It remains uncertain what may be built on the municipally-owned property at the corner of Main Street and Assomption Boulevard, or when.
Last week Codiac Regional RCMP moved out of the station at 520 Main St. to a new $59.2-million building on Albert Street.

Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc. says the site’s position at the entrance to the city’s core would provide a great opportunity for development.
Moncton has previously said little about what would happen to the former station once it is vacant.
