A Moncton school bus hit a student on Tuesday afternoon, the Anglophone East School District says.
First responders at the scene assessed the student, who was conscious, before being taken by family to the hospital for further assessment.
“The student is OK,” wrote Stephanie Patterson, spokesperson for Anglophone East, said in an email. “I cannot provide further personal health information.”
The student, described by police as a youth, was walking down McLaughlin Drive when the accident happened. The bus was on its way to Sunny Brae School to pick up kids for the afternoon run, so no one else was on board.
The bus driver “accidentally” hit the student, said a message distributed to parents from Randolph MacLean, the Anglophone East superintendent.
“We are in communication with the school and the student’s family.
