Moncton council is again debating allowing the former Moncton high school sports field to become a parking lot, this time serving a major federal government construction project.
The proposal city council is considering calls for using the field off Church Street north of downtown to become a parking lot and staging area during construction of the nearby Atlantic Science Enterprise Centre.
The science centre under construction along Université Avenue is expected to be complete in 2032 at a cost of $600 million. The plan called for the field to be reinstated when the centre is complete.
