The Department of Natural Resources is warning of several wildfires it is aware of Tuesday evening across the province.

Around 7 p.m., spokesperson Nick Brown forwarded a social media post from the department on social media that staff are on scene responding to “active wildfires” near Rogersville, Doaktown and Blissfield.

“At this time, there is no imminent risk to public safety,” the post said.

“We are asking the public to stay clear of the area and avoid all unnecessary travel nearby, so emergency personnel can carry out their work safely and without disruption.”

The department’s wildfire dashboard showed 16 wildfires across the province at 8 p.m., six of which are listed as out of control.
